10 \r\n Simple Tips and Tricks to Gain the Most from Google

Here \r\n are 10 simple search tips and tricks that you can use to your advantage \r\n to gain
\r\n the best results from Google without having to waste your valuable time \r\n and resources.

1. \r\n If you haven\'t already done so, you can download and install the Google \r\n toolbar by
\r\n simply going to http://toolbar.google.com

This \r\n will automatically insert the Google address bar and search box into your \r\n browser.
\r\n This will give you the option to block pop-ups as well as give you the \r\n option to
\r\n automatically complete online forms with your contact details etc. Now \r\n when you want
\r\n to search for information, there\'s no need to go to the Google.com website.

Simply \r\n type in your search phrase in you Google toolbar and hit enter.

2. \r\n If you\'re searching for information relating to a specific country, you \r\n can include
\r\n the "site:domain suffix" feature to only show results from a \r\n particular country so you
\r\n don\'t have to wade through a heap of unrelated stuff. For example if you \r\n were searching
\r\n for mobile phone sites in Australia you would use "mobile phone site:au".

To \r\n find all the separate suffix\'s for all countries go to:
\r\n http://www.computeruser.com/resources/dictionary/domains.html

3. \r\n To search the back link check of any site simply enter "link:http://www.google.com"
\r\n and you will see any external sites that are linked to this site. This \r\n is a great method
\r\n of checking the link popularity.

4. \r\n A potentially useful way to limit the scope of a search is to use the \r\n syntax for file
\r\n type (filetype:). For example, filetype:pdf website traffic finds \r\n any mention of website
\r\n traffic in pdf documents. This is an excellent method of finding education \r\n and/or
\r\n marketing resources and tools. Other formats include .ppt (PowerPoint), \r\n .doc (Word)
\r\n and .xls (Excel).

5. \r\n If you\'re looking for a specific search phrase that must be contained \r\n in the website,
\r\n put quotes around your phrases. This way the results will only contain \r\n sites that have
\r\n all the words in the phrase and not sites that only contain parts of the \r\n phrase.

6. \r\n You can use an asterisk (*) as a wildcard in your searches. For example: \r\n "George *
\r\n Bush" finds George W. Bush. This is an excellent strategy to \r\n find email addresses:
\r\n "email * * <domain name>"

For \r\n example - if you put quotes around "start an internet business" \r\n Google won\'t waste
\r\n your time finding one set of web pages containing the word "internet" \r\n and another set
\r\n containing the word "business" and another with the word "start" \r\n and so on.

7. \r\n If you\'re searching for a general term, put a minus sign right before \r\n any word you
\r\n want to exclude from the results. If you\'re looking up "web hosting" \r\n you\'ll have to wade
\r\n through thousands of free web hosting pages unless you search for "web \r\n hosting -free."

8. \r\n Searching for a map of a particular area has never been easier. Google \r\n is an online
\r\n Atlas, so all you need to do is enter the area code your want, for example \r\n 252, to see a
\r\n Map of the area. This is great if you are travelling and aren\'t familiar \r\n with the area.
\r\n You\'ll never get lost again :-) (not available in all countries)

9. \r\n Looking for the phone number of address of a person or business? Google \r\n is also a
\r\n handy global White Pages and Yellow Pages search facility. Search for \r\n "phone book:your
\r\n search term" and Google instantly finds the address and phone \r\n number of your search.
\r\n
\r\n This works with both names and businesses ("phone book:ryan cross \r\n los angeles").
\r\n Don\'t put any space after "phone book."

10. \r\n Need to know how much something is going to cost you on the net, but can\'t \r\n find
\r\n that blasted calculator. Google can come to the rescue. The next time \r\n you\'re in front
\r\n of your computer and can\'t find a calculator, simply type in an equation \r\n in the Google
\r\n toolbar and hit search to find the answer, ie 145+93*27/100=
