"The
Secret to Working Less to Earn More!"
Dave and Aaron
here with another pure content" weekly tip!
Are you having
trouble getting started with online marketing? Are your
websites profitable yet? Well you're not alone!
Many
beginning internet marketers quickly become frustrated and
quit because they do not realize instant profits, when in
fact if they had followed a few simple rules, they could
have turned around their fortunes and generated a good income
online.
If you're
at this stage of your business, here are two small but extremely
important tips that can have a huge impact on the success
your business. In fact by implementing them you can vastly
increase your productivity AND your profits.
First,
let me ask you a question. Do you ever find yourself checking
your website statistic more then once a day or surfing the
net for hours on end without any real plan?
If you're
like most new marketers you get in the habit of checking
your website stats two, three, five even ten times a day.
Even worse, often you find yourself unproductively browsing
the net when you should be focusing on issues that make
you money.
It is
easy to convince yourself that somehow all this is helping
you get a better understanding of the net and in the long
run it will help your business. But let me tell you something...
that's crap!
Rather
than checking your stats and wasting time surfing the net
jumping from one site to the next, you should be spending
your valuable time working on your websites, adding content,
searching for link partners to exchange links with, or researching
new markets etc.
Your
time is much too valuable to be wasting it by aimlessly
pushing buttons going from site to site like a bug-eyed
zombie. Use what little time you have to your greatest benefit
and you'll soon start to see what you truly can achieve.
The
second trap that to watch out for is bouncing product hopping.
You
can probably relate to this...
You
get an email from an internet marketing guru that says this
new software or product is the best thing since sliced bread.
What do you do next?
Well,
if you are like many other people you jump on the bandwagon
and hope for the quick windfall of profits.
Now
I'm not saying this is a bad thing. Provided you have your
business up to speed and you've structured it in such a
way that it's basically run on semi-autopilot, then actively
promoting multiple products can only help grow your business.
But
if you're just starting out, by jumping from one project
to the next most times nothing ever gets finalized and therefore
nothing ever becomes profitable.
So what
should you do?
Pick
one or two projects and stick with them. Do not change course
mid-stream. To be successful in any project you must give
it time to work.
The
rule of thumb that I use is to give the projects you've
identified as "hot" at least three months to work.
If
after this time the project has not become profitable then
you might want to regroup and change strategies.
For
example, if you've identified an excellent program that
targets a hot niche market, develop a plan to promote the
program and then implement your plan and give yourself three
months to start making money.
Be committed
and don't deviate from your plan. Even if after the first
few weeks it doesn't appear to be working, providing you
not losing money hand-over-fist, stick with it. You'd be
surprised how often people quit just before they were about
to hit the jackpot.
These
two techniques mentioned, while very simple, can significantly
improve both your productivity and your profits online.
All
the best and have a great week.
